Questions about this piece
Is resin jewelry durable?
It holds up well for something so light. Resin is a hard cast plastic, so it will not dent the way a soft metal does or chip the way a stone can, and it keeps its color instead of tarnishing. What it does not love is heat and harsh cleaners, so keep it out of a hot car and wipe it with a soft damp cloth rather than anything with alcohol in it. The beads here are natural resin, which is why a strand this chunky still sits light on your neck.
What do you wear with a chunky beaded necklace?
Give it a plain neckline and let it be the only thing happening up top. A wide bead needs open space to read, so a scoop, a V-neck or a crew in one solid color does more for it than a collar or a ruffle competing at the same height. Busy prints are the other thing to watch, since the two end up canceling each other out. At 16mm these beads are firmly in that territory, so keep your earrings small.
Where does an 18 inch necklace sit?
Right at the base of the neck, just below the collarbone and above the neckline on most tops. That is the useful part here: the cross pendant lands on skin instead of disappearing down a shirt front, and the 16mm beads sit in a row across the collarbone where you can see the shape of each one. Because the beads are natural resin, the tone shifts a little from one to the next, so the strand is not a flat single color.
