Questions about this piece
Does bath oil leave a ring around the tub?
Some film is normal, and it comes off easily if you deal with it while the tub is still warm. Oil floats, so it gathers at the waterline and stays there once the water drains. A cloth and a little dish soap take it off before it sets. The other thing worth knowing is that an oiled tub is slippery underfoot, so hold the edge getting out and run the shower over the floor of the tub afterward.
Why do essential oils smell stronger in a hot bath?
Heat is doing the work. The aromatic compounds in an essential oil are volatile, meaning they lift off into the air readily, and warm water and steam speed that up and carry them to you. That is why a bath fills a room in a way the same oil rubbed into your hands never does. It also means the scent is at its strongest in the first few minutes and softens as the water cools, which is worth knowing before you decide it has faded too fast.
How much do you use in one bath?
A capful, poured in under running water, and then a soak of about twenty minutes. The capful is small on purpose, because this is a concentrated oil and a heavier pour mostly leaves more of it on the tub rather than more scent in the room. Adding it while the tap is still running is what works it through the whole bath instead of leaving it sitting on the surface. The formula is vegan, and the Undaria Algae Body Butter from the same line goes on well afterward.
