Questions about this piece
Is fleece the same thing as sweatshirt fabric?
Close, but not the same. Both start as a knit, and fleece is the version brushed on the inside until the surface lifts into a soft nap. That nap traps air, which is why fleece feels warmer than a flat knit of the same weight. Fleece with cotton in it breathes better than one that is all polyester, and it holds less static. The body of this pullover is 55% polyester and 45% cotton, so it sits close to half and half.
What can you layer under a pullover?
Keep it thin and keep the neck low. A mock neck already sits high, so a collared shirt underneath has nowhere to go and bunches at the throat. A plain long sleeve tee or a tank is the better partner, and if you want a collar to show, let it come out at the cuff or below the hem instead. The dropped shoulders on this one leave real room through the arm, so a thin layer fits under it without pulling.
How oversized is this pullover really?
Enough that the model, who is 5 feet 8 inches, is wearing the smallest size. That is the most useful measure of it: a Small on a tall frame still hangs roomy, so take your usual size if you want it loose, and know that Small is as narrow as this one gets. It comes in Small, Medium and Large, and the ribbed cuffs and hem pull the extra width back in at the wrists and waist so it does not swallow you.
