Is navy or black the more useful handbag color?

Navy, if you already own a black bag. Black is the safer single purchase, but it can sit heavy against gray, camel and light denim, where navy softens the contrast and still counts as a neutral with nearly everything. The old rule about never putting navy with black has quietly gone away, so that is not a reason to pass on it. This one comes in black, brown and navy, which makes the choice less about the bag and more about what is already hanging in your closet.

What size bag do you need to carry a laptop?

Measure the width before anything else. A 13-inch laptop is close to 12 inches wide and 8.5 inches deep, so a bag narrower than about 12.5 inches across will not take one however deep it is, and width is the measurement people misjudge when they are shopping online. This satchel is 10.5 inches wide and 8.25 inches tall, which puts it under laptop size on purpose. It is built around a wallet, phone, glasses and the rest of the daily load, with 4 inches of depth so all of that sits side by side instead of stacked.

Can you carry this by the handles, or only crossbody?

Both, and the handle drop is what decides which. The two top handles drop 5 inches, which is a hand-and-forearm length rather than a shoulder one, so carrying it that way means carrying it down at your side or in the crook of your arm. For hands-free you clip on the crossbody strap, which adjusts from 15 to 26 inches and comes off entirely when you would rather it were not there. Inside are three compartments, two closing with magnetic snaps and a zip one down the middle, plus separate pockets sized for glasses and a phone.

Hallelu's private label is a collaboration with designers across the USA, and most of our clothing comes out of Los Angeles.
