What do you wear with a skort?
Keep the top fitted or tucked. A skort already carries volume at the hip from the shorts underneath, so a loose top stacked over that blurs where your waist is. A tucked tee, a fitted knit, or a button-down tied at the waist all keep the line clean. Shoes set the tone from there, with loafers and tights reading tailored and sneakers reading casual. This one is A-line and fitted at the waist, so it holds its shape under whatever you tuck in.
Does polyester wrinkle?
Not much, and that is the main reason it turns up in skirts and skorts. Polyester fibers are springy and hold almost no water, so creases fall out instead of setting in, which is why a polyester piece comes out of a suitcase ready to wear. The tradeoff is that it breathes less than cotton or linen. This skort is a structured woven in 100% polyester, so the A-line shape stays crisp rather than going soft on you through the day.
How does this skort fasten, and does the wrap front come open?
The wrap front is an overlay panel rather than a true wrap, and the closure is concealed, so there is no tie or button to work loose and nothing interrupts the houndstooth across the front. The built-in shorts sit under the A-line mini, which is what lets you take the stairs or climb in and out of a car without minding the length. It sits fitted at a mid-to-high rise, and at 5 feet 7.5 inches our model wears the Small.
