How do you make an old handbag look new again?

Swap the strap. It is the cheapest change you can make and it reads as a whole new bag from across a room. A plain tote with a patterned strap looks put together rather than tired, and you can switch the original back whenever you want. A scroll print like this one does the most work on a bag that is a solid color and otherwise plain.

Will a patterned strap clash with a printed dress?

It can, so let one of the two lead. If your dress is printed, a solid strap keeps things calm; if you want the strap to be noticed, wear it over a solid color. When you do mix the two, keep the prints at different scales and make sure they share at least one color. This strap is brown based, which gives it a neutral anchor that most prints can live alongside.

How wide is this strap and how does it sit on the shoulder?

It is 1.5 inches wide, which is narrow enough to tuck under a coat collar or a jacket lapel without leaving a ridge underneath. The narrower band also keeps the scroll pattern reading clearly instead of stretching it across a wide face. For a light bag it carries fine; if you load a bag up all day, you will be happier with something broader.

Who makes this item?

Hallelu's private label is a collaboration with designers across the USA, and most of our clothing comes out of Los Angeles. We also carry Levi's, By Together, Promesa, Miou Muse, Dippin' Daisy's and Kimberly C. We're proud to support local and women-owned makers too, including jewelry by Sea Stamped and candles by Sweet Water Decor.

How will I know when my order has shipped?

You'll get a shipping confirmation email with tracking information as soon as your order leaves us.

Can I cancel my order?

Once you've received your shipping confirmation, the order can't be cancelled. You can still exchange it by following our Exchanges Policy on the Shipping & Returns page.

Do you carry petite or plus sizes?

Most of our pieces come in small, medium and large, based on what our vendors make available. We stock XS and XL whenever we can. For measurements on a specific piece, have a look at our sizing guide.

Why isn't my discount code working?
