Questions about this piece
How do you keep an off-the-shoulder top in place?
Anchor it from below rather than pulling it up all evening. The neckline climbs when the body of the top has nowhere to go, so tucking the front into a waistband, or belting over it, holds the fabric down and the shoulders stay where you set them. A strip of fashion tape on the skin handles a slippery weave. This one is cut full and relaxed through the body, so there is plenty of fabric to tuck without bunching at your waist.
Should you wear your hair up or down with an off-the-shoulder top?
Up, if you want the neckline to do its job. The whole idea of an off-the-shoulder cut is the bare line it draws across your shoulders, and hair left down covers most of that line, so the top reads like any other from the front. A low bun, a twist, even a half-up, all keep it visible. Down is the softer option when you would rather not frame your shoulders. The long, billowy sleeves on this one give you plenty of interest either way.
What is this blouse made of, and is it lined?
The shell is 100% polyester, and there is no lining, so it is a single lightweight layer with the pleating running right through it. Nothing underneath is holding the pleats flat, which is how the sleeves stay billowy and the body keeps falling loose instead of standing away from you. The cuffs are elastic rather than buttoned, so you can push the sleeves to your elbow and they stay put. One color, sandy castle, in S, M and L.
