Questions about this piece
Does lace feel scratchy against your skin?
Where the lace sits decides that more than what it is made of. Lace built on a stiff synthetic thread can feel rough on bare skin, but a lace used as a trim meets you along one narrow line, while a full lace front is against you everywhere at once. On this cami the lace is kept to a trim at the edges, so it is the difference between noticing it on your shoulders and not thinking about it at all.
Can you wear a camisole as a top on its own?
Yes, when it is built as a top rather than as underwear. The finish is the giveaway: a lingerie cami has raw satin edges with nothing behind them, while one made to be seen is finished at every edge and lined so it is not translucent under a light. This one is lined right through, which is what lets it carry jeans or pants on its own, and it still slides under a blazer when you want more cover.
Does this cami have any stretch, and how should you size it?
A little, but not much. The shell is woven with 5% spandex, so it gives when you reach instead of hanging rigid, and behind it is a full polyester lining that has to move along with it. A lined woven does not forgive the way a knit does, so your usual size is the place to start rather than sizing down for a closer line. It comes in S, M and L, in black only.
