Questions about this piece
Can you wear a denim shirt with jeans?
Denim on denim works as long as the two washes sit far enough apart. A light shirt over dark jeans reads as two chosen pieces; the same blue top and bottom reads as a uniform. Putting something at the middle helps as well, a belt or a tucked hem, so the eye has a place to stop. This one comes in a Blue and a Light Denim, so you can take whichever is furthest from the jeans you reach for most.
What is the difference between denim and chambray?
The weave. Denim is a twill, built on a diagonal, with colored yarn running one way and white the other, which is why it has a visible grain and a paler wrong side. Chambray is a plain weave, one over one, and it comes out lighter and flatter. For a shirt that means denim keeps a shape and softens slowly, while chambray drapes from the first wearing. This one is a woven cotton denim, so it has body to it rather than falling soft against you.
How short is this shirt?
Cropped to the waist, so the hem lands at the top of a waistband rather than over it. That is what makes it a shirt for a high rise: there is nothing to tuck and nothing left hanging below. The cut is boxy with the shoulder seam dropped past your shoulder, so the extra room is in the body and the sleeve instead of the length, and it closes with tonal buttons under a pointed collar. Small, Medium and Large, in Blue and Light Denim.
