Questions about this piece
Do bralettes give any support?
Enough for a small to medium bust, though not the same kind of support an underwire gives. A bralette holds by compression, where the band and the fabric press inward and up, while an underwire lifts from below and separates. You trade shaping for comfort over a long day and no hardware digging into your ribs. A longline cut helps, because the wider band spreads the load across the ribcage instead of concentrating it on one narrow strip under the bust.
How do you wash a lace bralette?
By hand if you can, and in a mesh bag on cold if you cannot. Lace is fine threads with open space between them, and the damage in a washing machine is mechanical: a hook or a zipper catches one thread and pulls a whole run. Skip the dryer altogether, since heat is what kills the elastic in the band and the straps, and once that goes the bralette stops holding anything. Dry it flat, or hang it by the band rather than by the straps.
Are the pads removable, and how does it fasten?
The pads come out, and it pulls on over your head rather than fastening with a hook and eye. The straps cross at the back and adjust, so you set the height once and then just pull it on. Taking the pads out drops a layer of thickness and lets it lie flatter under a fitted top, while leaving them in gives shape and more coverage. It runs Small through Large in nine colors, from Black and Charcoal through Cream, Beige and Dusty Rose.
