What is a square scarf used for?
A square gets folded into a triangle or rolled into a long band before you wear it, and that is what makes it flexible: the same piece ties at the neck, goes around a ponytail, or knots onto a bag handle. A long rectangular scarf really only does the first of those well. Fold this one corner to corner when you want it at the neck, and roll it into a strip when you want it in your hair. The print is symmetrical, so it still reads as a whole design once it is folded rather than being cut in half.
Can you wash a satin scarf at home?
Usually yes, by hand, in cool water with a little gentle detergent. The risk with satin is not the water but heat and wringing, both of which flatten the sheen. Press it between two towels instead of twisting it, then hang it to dry away from any heat source. A polyester satin like this one takes that better than silk does and comes back with its shine. Skip the iron, and if a crease sets in, hang it in a steamy bathroom instead.
