Questions about this piece
Do gold earrings need to come off before you shower?
Not for the water itself. Plain warm water does nothing to gold. What causes trouble is what is dissolved in it and what you use alongside it: chlorine over time, salt left to dry on the metal, and the film shampoo and conditioner leave behind, which dulls the shine faster than wearing them does. If you do shower in them, rinse with clean water afterward and dry them. Taking them out is still the safer habit, mostly because a small hoop in a wet hand is an easy thing to drop down a drain.
What does a curated ear mean?
It means wearing several earrings together that were chosen to work as a group rather than matched as pairs, in different sizes and at different heights up the ear, usually built up over time as you add piercings. What makes one look considered is spacing: leave a gap so each piece is readable instead of crowding them into a single line. A small hoop at the lobe is the usual anchor, with studs filling in above it, and that is the job these are built for.
Do these come as a pair, and what are they made of?
They come as a pair, both earrings, which is worth saying because plenty of statement earrings are sold one at a time. The metal is 18K gold filled, and each one carries a seashell charm that sits against the lobe instead of dangling from it, so the shell catches light from the side the way a stud does rather than swinging out of view. If you want the match, MIA Jewelry's 18K Gold Filled Seashell Anklet is the same shell in the same metal.
